I'm more happy than sorry to be frank.Lupin wrote:Seems like i wont get rid of my last PCBs and parts now, heh.
Actually there are lot of similarities - connector is the same, CPLD has same packaging and it's the same brand as yours, although it's a different part. In general we didn't try to copy your design but for those, there simply wasn't a better alternative available.Lupin wrote: Not based on my design? You still use the same cpld and programming technique as i may assume by the photos. Any ideas on improvements on the flasher construction? Will you get cables made?
Flasher will be different but still not completely thought of, nor designed. It will include a cable naturally.
This was supposed to be a surprise but as you are the one asking, I'll answer - 2MB (16Mb). That way the full address space of the PM could be used.Lupin wrote: How large is the memory?
I also think it's beautiful, a work of art in my opinion. Full credit goes to my friend who designed it. Also it's a relatively conventional technology used for those so not too demanding to produce.Lupin wrote: Good job on cramping that bga flash into the design and turning it into a single side populated board. Was it hard (or expensive...) to find a manufacturer for the PCBs?
Again, he's got the right connections to produce those.Lupin wrote: I know how much effort it is to turn such thing into production, either you know someone who will do you a favour and help you or you pay lots for proto pcbs, stencils and assembly. Wouldnt be a problem if you'd plan to produce higher quantities...
Very glad to hear it and hope to be able to serve you soon (in the next months - August is a vacation time for the producers).Lupin wrote: So yeah, good job! I'll want one
