HELP! Rom transfer problem in Pokecart

Post by RayXambeR »

Hi!

I have encountered some problems while transferring romfile in poke cart.

I have seen these two messages (in French, sorry) :

and

on Win XP and Win Seven.

Do you have any idea? Do I need to install other things?

Question too: any driver for Mac OS X?

Thanks for your help! :)

Get the D2XX drivers here

For Windows 8.1 you don't need to install the drivers.

To fix the first error message (i guess that's Win XP):

You can download the FTDI drivers for Max OS X, but you will need to recompile PokeFlash for Mac OS X. It shouldn't be too hard, because I believe it doesn't use any libraries besides the FTDI driver.

Topic moved to Flash Cards.

Missing MSVCR100.dll error:
Install "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package 2010" from Microsoft
Pick "vcredist_x86.exe" for 32-bits OS or "vcredist_x64.exe" for 64-bits OS

Missing FTD2XX.dll error:
Install "D2XX Drivers" from the FTDI website
A driver for Mac OS X does exist (if you mean the D2XX driver)

If you mean the app for Mac OS X, you probably won't find the compiled binary anywhere if isn't in here... Your best solution should be to compile it from the source that comes with the archive.
Sadly i can't help you in that because i don't have access to Mac OS X (that's why i always distribute packages for Windows and Linux only).

I have made installation of the two programs and now PokeFlash GUI is launching correctly and the transfer seems made correctly. I have tried to transfer three rom files (the two with PokeFlash GUI and the recent Pokemon seed!) but, on my pokemon mini, I cannot see any of them...
Do you have to transfer only one rom each time or can I put more than one rom at the same time on the same cartridge?

Thanks for your help!

Now transfer seems ok. I can see time to transfer but the cartridge doesn't launch on my pokemon mini system.
But, by reading the file "example" with Pokeflash GUI, I have seen the mention "transfer successful" and, I haven't seen that with my file transfer.
Perhaps I have missed some thing? But what? ...

Need some help, please :)

Sincerely

I will laugh if you did transfer a .zip file instead of a .min file

If you insert the flash card on the back, shake it hard and it simply drops into the floor or hear *tsh tsh tsh* like a broken toy it will mean that your card is clearly loose and it's nowhere near making contact into the edge connector pins... then that's the problem.

Ok, time to get serious...
Your flash card need to be inside a game plastic case which need to be slightly modded... unless Lupin is selling those with the case (which i doubt due to rarity of the cartridges nowadays, it should sky-rocket the cost of the flash card)

It's very simple to mod, you only need a screwdriver and a razor blade.
Just take a unused/extra game (or use your Pokemon Party if you don't have any), open it up (not easy due to special screw), throw away the game PCB, carefully cut the plastic to make it fit inside (you'll need to cut a hole for the flash programmer cable and a rectangle cut for the Flash chip on the bottom), close it up and if it feels solid then it will work as good as a regular game cartridge.

The screenshot looks like you're only flashing one ROM file.
If you flash multiple ROM files, then it should output "Building menu ROM...".

Try to flash only one single .min file to the flashcart.

When you use the cartridge without case you will need to fully insert the cart and then pull it out by about 1mm before turning on the PM.

The carts are delivered programmed. Did the cart work after you've received it?
